Long time no talk..

I just realised that I have not been "talking" much on my blog... =)
A lot of food pictures and celebration photos, but not much random chatting or comments.

Lately I have fallen in love with Pandas, especially winter makes me feel like one. How nice if life is a lazy dazy day for me. All I have to do is to lie around and have bamboo shoots within my grasp.

This sure is the life for me... I don't mind living in the wild like this.. =)

Been feeling like a fat panda too... the winter is not helping me to maintain my weight, so don't even think i could lose weight either. Been having late nights as well, watching movies, anime, playing PS2 and hanging out with friends; that explains the black eyes as well.....

Yawn.. and the world yawns with me....

See the world in different angle...

At the Mars Bar!!

Guess What!!! I found some picture That happen during Ethan's Birthday!!!

Let me introduce you to Mars Bar: where Gays, Lesbians and Straights gather together and dance =) They have drag shows every Saturday night, and here are some photos of them performing.

I love the lipstick that the lady in purple wears, The redhair lady is the prettiest, and the blonde lady is the hottest!! I had to put up the redhair chick picture again; she is sooo pretty. the guy next to her is on of the dancers during the performance.

Let me list down the nicknames I've gotten for my lovely housemate; aka Ethan Tan.

Babycakes: because that was already giving to him my Kenny

Chipmunk: because he reminded of one (I'm not the only one who thinks he look like a chipmunk)

Big mouse: because he quietly eats everything that he sees, especially Pigeon's gummies, while I'm the little mouse at home, because i take one bite and leaves the rest for Pigeon to eat.. =)

Chicken head: for his hair style; he calls me Japanese doll because of my hair style.

SoooSoooo back to the Birthday party at Mars. All the birthday people gather on the stage and each one has to do something "embarrassing". Girls flash and guys have to drop the pants.

Here is Ethan's embarrassing moment!! hahaha By the way , he wore a clean pair of underwear; AussieBum. Shy and Kawai-ne little chipmunk.

Officially introducing Pigeon

Running through memory lane....

It has been a fast journey for me. In a blink of an eye, it has been one year with Pigeon already. There wasn't any major quarrel, just the occasionally nagging and hissy fits (guess who is the one who started it =P)

So here, I "Official" introduce you to Pigeon and tell a short story of the one year we are together.
We started off the day I went to Perth last year. hahaha had a mini long distance relationship for a week. Interesting experience; hogging Jane's computer and getting through the day with my dodgy Panasonic mobile phone...

Pigeon birthday came 1st. We went to Sammy's for his birthday. This was the first picture I sent home to my sisters and mum to see. Their first, second, third comments were on the seafood platter we ordered; they sort of disregarded the 2 people behind it. 1st part of the email : nice huge plate of seafood, fresh? $$?? where??? bring them there next time...etc... last part of the mail only sort of mentioned / describing pigeon as "ok"... what the @#$^%&

The Food and Wine Festival down at Barrossa Valley. We spend 2 days at the valley eating and drinking different food and wine, (will be heading for the festival again this year; next weekend).

August baby birthday bash; we went Melody for karaoke. That is when Pigeon had his birthday cake (hehehe I know, it's abit late)

Sept: The Royal Adelaide Show, where we tried to win some prizes, buy show bags and tasting free food. (going there next month... muahaha more toys)

Finally my birthday arrives...=) (check old post for details) We went to one of the Japanese restaurant in Hyatt... I had my lovely birthday cake.

Schutzenfest!! German beer and roast hocks.....

Finally, out 1st year Anniversary Dinner in a fusion restaurant in Hilton.

I realised that most of my pictures with Pigeon are taken surrounding with food.... hmmm that's good or bad??...We went to Robbie William and Human Nature concerts together as well, but there wasn't any photos of us and the singers; therefore, no point of me putting just the singers' photos.

Sneak peek

Due to the meals that we had and pairing wines to go with it, the alcohol kicks in pretty fast; especially on an empty tummy. Pigeon was slightly high by the 4th dish. Here is a picture of me, taken by him, through out the whole course. the pictures started off okie, then you can see the effect of the alcohol kicks in....
Note to self: Make up sure do make me look sober the entire night... hehehe.....

My turn to photograph Pigeon. Everything seems to look okie; the lighting was not strong enough to make the pictures more distinctive. Anyway, Pigeon's face was getting redder by the minute... hahhaha

Anniversary Dinner

My First Anniversary Dinner with Pigeon at The Grange, Hilton Adelaide

The dinner was cooked by the famous Chef Cheong Liew, Top Ten Chef of the World. Brief introduction; he is from Malaysia, who cooks fusion Asian, Australian and French cuisine.

(Picture taken from food critic website: http://www.mva.org.au/)

The Grange setting (Picture taken from thegrangerestaurant.com.au) and the table settings.
Pigeon and me, each took the "A Sensory Experience", it is a 8 course meal, starting from the appetiser all the way to the dessert. Each meal comes with a compliment wine.

Starters with a piece of cold hard bread at the side. The bread's quality was a bit shocking. They should be serving hot, just baked, bread. Ohhh well... Just let me start with the meal... Complimentary starter dish; barramundi with pickled salad at the bottom, with light coconut sauce.

The Four Dances of the Sea (left pic): Starting from the front of the dish and eat clockwise direction. First we have the soused snook with avocado, then raw calamari with squid ink noodles (although it's just one bite size, it is my favourite dish of the entire menu), next comes octopus aioli, lastly spiced prawn sushi, accompanied with white wine '06 Mesh Riesling'
A Gang of Fish (right pic): There was snapper and red mullet with mussels, clams and squid in a tomato and crustacean sauce , with compliment white wine '05 William Fevre Chablis

Left pic: Shark-fin soup dumplings in Venison consommé, poached quail egg and accompanied with Lustau 'Escuadrilla rare Amontillado' Sherry
Right pic: Bourbon baked marron, marron mousse with confit onions, lime crisp with pilaf rice and accompanied with`05 Voyager estate Chardonnay

The difference with my main meal (left pic) and Pigeon's (right pic)
Left pic: Loin of Suffolk lamb, urad dahl, pearl barley and vegetable pulse with goat cheese souffle and tomato ginger jus and accompanied with '04 Turkey Flat Cabernet Sauvignon
Right pic: Spiced Wagyu beef, anchovy roasted capsicum salsa, and stuffed mushroom (Surcharge of $30 applies for main course size)and accompanied with `04 Howard Park "Scotsdale" Shiraz. Pigeon got the main course size, the portion is still small =) haha

Left pic: Smoked rassom eggplant custard, bean puree, tomato, green lentil samba with 06` Stefano Lubiana "Primavera" Pinot Noir
Right pic: Bail seed, sago in tropical fruit broth with coconut lime sorbet. No wine with that.

Lastly, we finish with the Grange Dessert Dance Black: rice palm sugar pudding, praline torte, chocolate figs, watermelon spumè with Morris ‘Old Premium’ Liqueur Muscat

That ends the whole dinner, which took about 3 hours... food was fantastic!! Really gave my tastebuds a run and tingling feeling... Definitely worth the money...
Last picture: slanted plate, just had to take a photo.

My present for Pigeon

This is what I got pigeon.

There was a t-shirt that came along with it. Haven't got the chance to take a picture of it. Why did I get him this? He is a whiskey drinker, not a wine or beer drinker. I'm not a whiskey drinker, can't really stand the "smokiness", can't tell the difference either. Of course generally speaking the more expensive the alcohol is, the better taste it should be. Anyway, Blue Label is one of the top range whiskey of Jonnie Walker; fingers cross, should be a good!!

One year togather

Can't believe it's already one year. Me and Pigeon have been together for one year... Just last year, I was enjoying myself in Perth for a week!

Pigeon has been very nice and good to me. This was what he surprised me with...

A nice hotel getaway package for 2 nights. The hotel is located in the city (not much of a far getaway); I took a day off on Thursday, and I went back to work on Friday and rushed back to my little getaway.. =P

Warm fuzzy robe, ready for a long hot soak in the spa tub, with sweetheart shape aromatherapy bath soak. The bathtub was decorated with rose petals...

Two types of chocolate from Pigeon; Shiraz coated ChocTruffles and Champagne coated ChocTruffles from Haighs.

Snooze Button

Snooze button, anytime & anywhere...

This "snooze button thing" had just pop into my mind. How nice if we could snooze anything that we want. I mean; I would like the event to happen anyway, maybe just not now.

Events to snooze:
1st : menstrual cycle ; especially if you're going out swimming with friends
2nd : sleeping time ; so I can finish the #$^%^*% Harry Potter book
3rd : waking up from sleep ; natural reaction

Events to stop forever:
1st : exam results ; because I know it ain't good =P

hahaha
It's just a thought..... winks~*

Farmer in me

There should be a farmer in ever one. Mine has been unleased... hahaha
Road trip to Turretfield..... What am I doing overthere?? Sowing!!

After graduating Bachelor degree with Honours, I've found a job in "Sowing" and "Harvesting". This isn't what I thought I would do after graduating; haha but it's good exercise... After a day's hardwork, quenched down with a glass of hot chocolate and fill my tummy with sandwich and chips!!

After fieldwork at far far away Turretfield, sowing was done in Uni's trial field. Occasionally we have neighbours next to our netted field.

After sowing on the trial field, my attention is to sow in the glasshouse.

Little babies just grew up. They will soon to grow about 3 feet tall for the lines sowed in the round potted pots.
