Enoteca

Dinner anyone??

Italian Fine Dining Restaurant that might burn a hole in your wallet =P
With food like these, a little hole doesn't matter as much. In the celebration of getting my PR, definitely worth it =P

My dish: Quail & Squid ink seafood pasta

Bosses dish: Scallop (entree) & I can't remember specific mains they had (pasta, beef, vegetable & potato sides)

Colleague dish: prosciutto wrap & scallop (main)

The restaurant is located along Carrington St.

It's been a month =P

Ooppsss.....

It was a busy busy month last month..... All went well, which is good =)
Pics? no pics with me... When everyone is carrying a SLR, my lil compact digital camera is losing out on size, zoom length and definition.... just have to wait for the professional ones to be ready...

A nice grin to start a Monday... =)

Heavy renovations and building buildings are going on in my campus... Traffic today was haywire...endless lines... The guy who hold the stop and slow sign... He was nice to stop both sides traffic for me to cross the road =)...

I don't think I have ever made both sides cars to stop and stare at me when I cross the road, even if I'm in short skirts.... hehehehe

ps: it felt abit like in kindergarden as well -.- sighhhhh....

A conversation

I have a funny, quick wits friend,D. It's hilarious that some daily occurrence of our lives becomes a joke.

Some people can be very judgmental in a small way; reacts in disbelieve/shock if it's out of their norm. Then they turn to the know it all person, continue to become an airhead... This used to happen to me when i was younger but it is still happening to him which I found it hilarious.

Judgmental: What!! You're Chinese and you don't speak Mandarin/Cantonese??!!
The victim: Nope, I'm half Malaysian and half Japanese... I speak Japanese at home.
Know it all: Oh no wonder...
Airhead: Say something in Japanese!!!...
The victim: .................... -.-||

hehehehehe... This is the part when he could have told the person "BAKA!!" but that would meant that he needs to explain the word if the person doesn't understand it...

Lazy useless next generation...

How did THIS become such a huge controversy??

THIS meaning: The government here decided to cut off Youth Allowance for any youth below the age of 20; if they are not studying or in training.

Obviously the youth/youngsters started complaining and whining about it because they are forced to go back and finish they education... but what I don't understand is that some people are against this ruling because this will promote prostitution..??!!

How this will promote prostitution??!!.... Would it meant that these youth rather be prostitute than go back studying?? The Youth Allowance starts about $200 fortnightly; that comes to $100 a week, maybe more for some . If those youth want to turn to prostitution they would have done that long ago. I'm sure they'd earn more than $100 a week. Which leads to = if they can choose to "work" those hours to get paid $100... they might as well use that time to study and get better higher paid jobs when they graduate.

The dumbest reason gave by some chick (sunbathing along the beach in her bikini) who ;
  • politely speaking : put on hold her studies
  • reality : dropped out of school
she needs time off now because she'll be facing working life for the rest of her life...

Good for you dummy... go take all the time you want... but don't expect the government & taxpayers to pay it...

Fringe was on!!

I don't believe myself that I plunged into the Fringe and became a helper as well. Fringe: lots of music, comedy, rides, performance, show.... Time to chill out, have drinkings with friends and family.

I WAS A SURVEYOR FOR THE FRINGE!! How I came about being one is such a loop that it began with myself -.- . A few friends were looking for jobs and I just randomly sent whatever I see to them. The Fringe was one of them. The lady called my friend,R, and asked her to bring a friend; guess who was "the" friend (in case it's not clear enough, it's me).

It has been 5 years since I have done survey; walking to random strangers and hope they can spare 5 minutes to do a survey. 5 minutes is just an estimate; truth for most survey "as long as you say yes, the 5 minutes will stretch to 15 minutes... hehehe". Well this survey really took about 5 minutes, I've done one within 2 as everything was a no.

I guess it's easier to do a survey with a friend rather then walking alone and asking strangers to fill up the forms. There are people who don't want to do surveys and some don't like to be asked about their household income. It is true that it's tedious but surveys do help the organisers to understand the progress of this event and improve it for next year.

Anyway, after 3 hours I finished my assigned 25 forms and got paid $50 Fringe voucher. Got myself the Fringe t-shirt as a remembrance. Will I do it again?? Once and never again for this year... I'll reconsider next year... hehehe

A colleague gave me 2 tickets to Sammy J the comedian performance which is held in the Bosco Theater inside the Garden of Unearthly Delights. The show was about 1999.. when everyone was panicking due to Y2K... and him; a life of a teenager... very unique quirky show...

In to the frenzy....

I have become one of the little fishes that plunged into the "Stephenie Meyer" pool... I have finish reading all these books and I LOVE FULL MOON and BREAKING DAWN!!!

Twilight was a slow read for me as I try to recall who acted as who in the movie and trying to remember the scenes from the movie. It wasn't as exciting to read as I'd watched the movie already. The movie squashed a few conversations from the book into one scene in the movie. BUT I love Full Moon. So much more emotions and actions.. the intensity of the love between the main characters... Eclipse was okay I think, after the peak in the second book, the third one seems a little bland... But Breaking Dawn is superb!! It makes me wanna be a half human half vampire too....

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautnar are definitely a good cast for this teenage lover story movie. While every teenagers going fan craze at Edward, I prefer Jacob; he is very upfront about his thoughts and much more dependable. I am not about to go crazy at Taylor; 1st he is 11 years younger than me while Robert is only 4 years... I think I would prefer to go crazy over Robert than cradle snatching Taylor... hahaha... but never say never =P

Healthy Breakfast

1st of all.. Thank you J and C for this nice breakfast..

Chianti Classico; Best Breakfast Restaurant for 2008

I LOVE THIS PLACE.... I had dinner with my friends here before; the meal was scrumptious... Unfortunately I didn't take any photos.
This time around, it is breakfast. One of the healthiest breakfast I ever had...

Freshly squeezed blood orange juice...

Lightly poached cod fillet and asparagus with a poached free-range egg and hollandaise sauce and a sliced of bread (taste like homemade)

Eggs Benedict – poached free-range eggs and leg of ham sitting on toasted muffins with hollandaise sauce

Traditional Eggs Florentine – spinach, parmesan cheese and free-range eggs baked in béchamel sauce

ps: I ate the cod... so healthy =)

Where is Originality??

Are things so limited that we lost originality?? We recycle other people’s idea and trends over and over again. Is that it?? That is all we have??

While everyone is busy celebrating CNY, I got thinking, Valentine’s Day is round the corner and I have no idea what to do/buy. I’ve been receiving emails from different companies promoting their latest stuff and ideas for oneself or as presents and they seemed to be about the same. Will it be another perfume/ jewelry/ clothes/ accessories?? I guess this is the time to stick to traditional gifts and it won’t go wrong…BUT traditional gifts (flowers and chocolates) seem to be uncreative/ unoriginal.

HhhhMmmmm fussy aren’t I??

Here is a piece of [information] on the heatwave! Electricity cut off due to high demand...
62 suburbs had their electricity cut off (mainly east and south suburbs off the city); this include my work place... I was entering data half way when it happened @#$@#...I was on the last sheet too... On the bright side, I've got electricity at home! YAH!!

My Fav....

My favorite Korean Restaurant in Adelaide is still Koreajung along Leigh Street...
It the same restaurant with the raw crab meat dish; [Gae Jang; seasonal]
A great place to have dinner during winter, definitely comfort food. Their complimentary side dishes used to be unlimited refills, but now you can only refill them once...

Korean raspberry wine; a refreshing sweet drink at the side...

BBQ korean style...

Barbecue vs Barbeque

Sometimes the food looks better than it taste... I guess this is one of them... The actual barbecued meat is just okie, nothing fantastic.... but the side dishes are quite good...

In To The Year 2009

Everyone start off their year with different hopes & aims. Pigeon and I started the year with a promise....

A promise only he and I know; shhhhhh.........

Long rest....

It seems that nearly everyone I know are having a longggggg rest away from blogging.

To the end the year 2008, I put myself up into a detox program (10days)...
Not the brightest idea... hehehe.... it was meant to detox the body, instead I developed allergy rash on the 7th days and had to stop detoxing immediately... I don't know if it was due to work, face cream or the detox program... I only had rashes on my face and no where else -.- hhmmm

What to do next? Pump my "clean" body with steroids!! -.- The rashes did went away =P... good ending of 2008 in Adelaide =)
