Cruising......

Misty morning to work during winter

One of those things that make me go hmmmmmm......

A big "tank" carrying flammable gas; warning signs / fire extinguisher / emergency phone numbers ... etc are stated for safety purposes.
(Hold that thought)

I wonder how the driver is going to grab the fire extinguisher in case of fire...? It is securely fasten at the back of the tank and covered with a plastic cover.

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Abyssinian food

This pick for dinner was just a random choice from the net.
The first trail of thoughts: There is an African restaurant in Adelaide??!!
The second thought: Lets go and try.....

Place: The Abyssinian Restaurant along Henley Beach road.

I am surprised that it was moderately packed on a weekday night. There were groups of people coming in after we sat down and when we left. Ignorant or sceptical as I may be, this is a well known place for some people (as I observed)

This is where the adventure begins: 3 different types of African beer. 2 of the beer tasted slightly similar to Carlsberg and Heineken, but one of the beer is an acquired taste (sort of bitter and sour)

The portion for 3 people is huge!! It is served on a huge plate and each person eats their own side *Note the 3 sourdough bread around the plate.
What are in that plate? : lamb and chicken, spinach, potatoes, pumpkin and eggs.
How do you eat this?? With your hands =) Peel the bread off the sides and wrap the meat/veges up. I liked the spicy chicken and vegetables; the chili taste is very different from the normal red chili that is bought from the market. It had a dry spicy aftertaste that linger on my tongue

Definitely a different sort of meal in my daily life. A very full dinner too....

Argentinian Grill

Place: Argentinian Grill
along Port Road, next to Adelaide Entertainment Centre
Occasion: K.L's birthday

Look who came for dinner??

As usual we started off with drinks: Guinness Stout and red wine (Shiraz)

Appetisers: Tapas, bread and mussels and clams soup

Vegetables: Rockets with feta cheese

Potatoes and homemade sauce for the grill meat

Mains: The grill meat; pork, beef, quail and venison (I think). The meat are place above a small grill to keep the food warm. As you slowly work your way down, the bottom pieces of the meat definitely lost its moisture but was the most tender meat comparatively. Quite flavoursome with their homemade sauce. Although the portion was meant for 2 people (Pigeon & KL can't finish it)

My mains: seafood chowder. It has mussels, clams, blue swimmer crabs, prawns and quail (?? Don't know what is that quail doing in there, but I'm not complaining... hehehe). If you plan to order this dish for mains, you could skip the mussels and clams soup. This is has a similar tomato based soup but has richer seafood flavour (because of the crabs).

ps: Too full to end the meal with dessert....

pps: Would go back there again one day... yummmmmmm
