Sunday School and the kids

Ah my first Sunday School as a "teacher" hahaah Interesting experience.....
I think I would not go in to details of the entire trip, maybe bits and pieces here and there.. There's the normal, sing songs, play games... and fold balloons!!

Right: My creative balloon design!!! ahahaha does it look like a heart to you??? I wonder myself.. =P
Left: The kids are colouring the cross, in their most creative way.

Left: Group photo Group photo
Right: I was given a coloured cross and a flower made by one of the student.

Ah so far the 2 cutest boy and gal (the one in pink) that I might consider adopting. hahaha but the joke of the day is that the girl is actually the pastor's daughter...

So many things to say, so little time..

I am back from Thailand!!

Where did I go? A small little village in Thad Tai.
What for? Missionary work. There is an Orphanage and Christian Church that my church support.

What was going on in those few days? I guess I'll start with the serious work, then I'll put the "funny" stuff else where then... =)
Ah, trustly AirAsia, for cheap flights... On our way to Chiang Mai...

Here we have a short prayers for the mall night service the day we reached there. A small introduction for the 6 of us were given; and the kids themselves introduced themselves as well.

We each take turns to tell a moral story or share an experience we had with god to them. The person in Green is the pastor who runs the church and take cares of the orphanes. He helped us translate from English to "La Hu" language, while the boy in black and orange translate from chinese to "La Hu" language.

My bed.... small and comfy... Definately straightened my back when i zzz every night =P

Back Home!! Full Fridge, with nothing to eat.....

HOME SWEET HOME MALAYSIA!!!
I just got back a couple of days ago. It's nice to be back once in a while.... get rested, rejuvenated.. etc Some stuff just bring back memories. One of the joke in my house is that the fridge is always full, but nothing to eat!.. Take a look at one of my fridges. Do keep in mind that all fridges in my house are under the same condition.
Lets start from the very begining, a very good place to start!! I'll just type what is visible okie =)
From the 1st level, there is juice juice and more juice, oats milk , soy bean milk, pineapple tart, some rice pop crackers, bread and red bull.
2nd level: Lots of small containers, containing "dunno what: biscuits, odd looking herbs", a McD fries packet, biscuits and cake.
3rd level: ginger beer, milk, packet tea, sprite, wine, yoghurt, bread and biscuit.
4th level: more drinks, instant noodles, more little containers...

Where is your average fridge filled with snacks??? junk food? It's official, I have aliens living in my fridge. Most of the stuff, I have no idea what they are... Maybe for you, you'd think that there's alot of things to eat, for me: I don't fancy bread, tarts and cakes, picky on the type of biscuits I eat. This leaves with with pretty little options =)

It's coming it's coming

hehhe, Yes I'll be uploading my 1st yee sang dinner pictures soon =P.... hehehe it's coming it's coming.. =P

okie, Lets go on to anoter topic for a while.......

Could you tell me what happen after that???!!
Okie, For the driver out there, it is common to pay the person who you bang a compensation, if you're at fault right??... For example:
You are driving along the road, at a lazy dazy mood, when suddenly you realise the car in front of you is not moving. You stomp on your brake and couldn't stop in time; therefore you bang the car (duh!). You get out of the car, inspect etc... then there's a damage about $200, you negotiate trying to reduce it... and by the end you pay $150 to settle everything. okie here is the twist:
If it is a police car you bang... do you have to pay them back for car damage??? (erm i'm talking about police in other countries, other than Malaysia where bribing occus =P)...
Of course there is the "get out of your car with your hands up", "ID please", "breath test' for alcohol.. etc... So back to the question: Do you pay for the damage?

hehehe =P

The Year of the FirePig

Welcome to the Year of Firepig!!!!

I've already had my reunion steamboat dinner, held on the 17th February 2007 (Saturday), with a few friends who are not back home celebrating with family. We had another steamboat gathering yesterday 20th February 2007 (Tuesday) with a couple of friends who came just back from home sweet home. Both of this steamboat was held at 40-ish Celsius day.... hahaha not the most brilliant idea; at least no one has to think of what to cook for a gathering.

Time to "lao yu shen" or "lou yee sang" on the seventh day of Chinese New Year!! Just in case you don't understand what is Yee sang: it's a dish name (translated to) Prosperous Life. When you "lou" it, it means making a prosperous life. Further explanation and pictures will be on that gathering =)

Hope everyone is welcoming the year as enthusiastic as this little cute boy =)

Motivation!!

I've got an email from a friend who was trying to motivate the people around her. So I've decided to share some of this motivation with you. Hope you feel slightly better after looking at this =)
We all agree on the phrase "United we stand; divided we fall"..... this result in:

Never give up!!! When there's nothing else you can do (even if your frens can't help you), you know that you're doom. Of course it's not that bad if you're the only one who knew about it; but if you have friends who like taking photos of you = YOU ARE DOOM!!!

Compulsory for medical field people

I went for blood donation about a week ago (regular donor). Then this question popped up

Shouldn't all medical field people be donating blood???

All doctors, nurses, interns, medical students, nurses student maybe even pharmacist; unless of course there's medical condition that prevents you from doing so ;anemics, people with low blood pressure, blood problems...etc.

These people are meant to save lives; shouldn't they be setting a good example and donate???All these cries of the blood bank getting low on blood. How one person's blood can save 3 lives (depending on form its being used). The blood bank has been calling people up for donation, and it sure makes you wonder could all those "kind" souls who donate $$ to charity could do abit more =)

I've heard from people who are in the medical field, who refuse to donate blood, gives absurd answers to why they do not like to donate (list below), sure frustrate the h*ll out of me. They should make it compulsory for them to donate at least once a year!!!

Crappy excuse:
1. Afraid of needles
heeeelllooooooo you're a medical student you'll be poking people needles onto your patients, what $%^$%^$ excuse is that??
2. Makes me go weak
you're a doctor, you should know that this condition only last for 2-3 days, at most a week, for a healthy person.
3. I just don't like it
inconceited selfish B*****d/B***h
4. No time
then make time, I'm sure between your social life, annual leaves.. etc you could just squeeze out 1 hour for it
5. I'm having my period
then do it on another day
6. I have aids (I think this was meant as a joke, but that's not what a doctor should be replying)
you don't have one, if you're a doctor with aids... WTH are you still consulting patients?? unless the patients are confident with your work

No more dumb excuses... Go Donate Your Blood!!!!!

Valentine's day

Valentine's Day is tomorrow!!!! and Pigeon is around to celebrate with me... Yipeeeee.... (Last minute change of plans)

So what are the normal things that you would get on Valentine's???My point of view of course.... The commercial lovie dovie things like:

Roses (single rose or a bunch depending on the guy's budget)

Chocolates, preferably in heart shapes
Romantic dinner for two in some posh nosh place (always an ideal thing, cus the restaurants would have valentine's special, and you don't have to clean up if you're having dinner at home)
And if your a girlfriend like me.... I've no idea what to get... i'm so stuck and it's also a last minute thing, cus I thought I had more time (Pigeon is meant to fly home this holiday). I ended up buying something "useful" and not romantic at all......sigh... Of course there is the being common present like the chocolate option, cooking/baking for him, but I don't want that!!

This is what I got for him... hahaha [pick a guess what it is]
Aren't I a romantic fool?? =P

EEEeeewwww Part 4

Okie, I've decided to conclude that that girl is wearing a uniform to the lab..... She wore the same thing again on Monday!!! I'm too gross to think about any other things... so mind set:

"She has a dozen of this and she wears them like a uniform"

eeesh!!! what a way to bluff myself!

Makes you wonder....

This is a joke I grabbed from hemmy.net. A pretty good site to pop over to have a look... =)

On the very first day, God created the cow. He said to the cow, "Today I have created you! As a cow, you must go to the field with the farmer all day long. You will work all day under the sun! I will give you a life span of 50 years."
The cow objected, "What? This kind of tough life you want me to live for 50 years? Let me have 20 years, and the 30 years I'll give back to you." So God agreed.
On the second day, God created the dog. God said to the dog, "What you are supposed to do is to sit all day by the door of your house. Any people that come in, you will have to bark at them! I'll give a life span of 20 years."
The dog objected, "What? All day long to sit by the door? No way! I give you back my other 10 years of life!" So God agreed.

On the third day, God created the monkey. He said to the monkey, "Monkeys have to entertain people. You've got to make them laugh and do monkey tricks. I'll give you 20 years life span."
The monkey objected. "What? Make them laugh? Do monkey faces and tricks? Ten years will do, and the other 10 years I'll give you back." So God agreed.
On the fourth day, God created man and said to him, "Your job is to sleep, eat, and play. You will enjoy very much in your life. All you need to do is to enjoy and do nothing. This kind of life, I'll give you a 20 year life span."
The man objected. "What? Such a good life! Eat, play, sleep, do nothing? Enjoy the best and you expect me to live only for 20 years? No way, man!....Why don't we make a deal? Since the cow gave you back 30 years, and the dog gave you back 10 years and the monkey gave you back 10 years, I will take them from you! That makes my life span 70 years, right?" So God agreed.
AND THAT'S WHY....
In our first 20 years, we eat, sleep, play, enjoy the best and do nothing much. For the next 30 years, we work all day long, suffer and get to support the family. For the next 10 years, we entertain our grandchildren by making monkey faces and monkey tricks. And for the last 10 years, we stay at home, sit by the front door and bark at people!

Eeeewwwww Part 3

Finally that gal has decided to change clothes.... =)
hahah that's about it!

What has happen to far, is that she has been wearing the same clothes, from top to bottom (literarily), since Monday... and it's now Wednesday.... she hasn't stink yet. hmmmmm under observation ; is she gonna be wearing the same thing this week... talk about saving water, detergent and electricity (if you use washing machine).....

13 January 2007, Saturday, 13:00...

Schutzenfest

What is Schutzenfest????
It's a "shooting festival" which is celebrated by German towns since the medieval times.

So lets start with a "warm and friendly" entrance welcome!!
Hahaha, nothing much to look at; not even balloons..... hmmmmm....

Well, we took a bus here, cus we were gonna drink. (Don't drink and drive). There would be police around the area breath testing all drivers for alcohol content. Getting license suspended ain't fun!! =)

Next critic:
From the infomation website "Adelaide's Bonython Park comes alive with the sounds of Oompah music, dancing from Bavarian and Black Forrest regions of Germany, and also from neighbouring Austria."

Erm... how or what should I say about this comment? Saw the aliveness of the place, heard the music, but didn't see and dances going round.. =)

Next comes the fun part!!! Like the rest of my blogging events: Food comes next!!!!

I had a schnizel burger first, but didn't have enough hands to take photo, on top of that I was too hungry to bother taking any too... =) hahaha ... Yes I pigged out a little that day, to the next menu ----->

This seriously makes me feel like Obelix; especially the second pork hog, crispy roasted pork, yummmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!! Now I need to find Dogmatix to give the bones to..teeheehee
From this (pork hog from 2 different tents):

To this (pig bones):

And wash it all down with Cider (Taste fantastic)

*Burrrrrrrppp!*

=P oops, excuse me!

After the food, where did I head off??? Well it is Schutzenfest!!! so it's of to some shooting!!

Adapted from brochure: "Competitive shooting is one of the main features of Schutzenfest because good marksmanship was essential defence of medival towns."

Well, the picture of me shooting is in D's camera, well, I have the "Aiming point paper" as proof.. hahaha, Guys are known as King and Gals are known as Queen.

Well, as you can see, my aiming is wayyyyyy off... hahhaa Only 1 bullet hit the actual black score sheet. If you notice anything odd or funny: There's one target, which doesn't even have a hole in it, that's because the bullet went off when it was still on the table =P.. hahaha The gun was too heavy and the trigger was just too sensitive. slight touch caused it to fire away!...=P

Ahhhhh... don't you just love competition??? here we have the Schuzenfest: Strong Arm Beer Stein Lifting Competition.

Here we have 10 "strong" men trying to lift a stein of beer (one litre) as long as possible. Then it was the women's turn. Rules: you have to hold the beer at shoulder length for as long as you can. In Adelaide, the men's record so far is 35 minutes and the women's is 25 minutes.

How to finish this wonderful day??? By sculling down a stein of cold German beer!!!!!! Getting a good tan (and I overburn my shoulders =P) Cheers to Schutzenfest!!!!

PS: Cute hat eh!!! I got it for $10... hahaha...
